The magic of commercial compilers

As a GCC hacker, if there is one thing i’m tired of reading, it’s how X or Y commercial compiler is a billion times better than GCC, and GCC can’t possibly catch up.
It’s the last part that bothers me.
There is no magic in commercial compilers that is not in GCC.
There are few algorithms and optimizations they implement they we don’t.
They don’ t perform magic.
